Dawsonville- State Senate Candidate Chip Pearson will be in New Yorknext
week attending the Republican National Convention. Nominated in April
by the Georgia Republican Party, Pearson will serve as a member of the
Georgia delegation and vote to nominate President George W. Bush for
re-election.
The convention, which takes place in Madison Square Garden in New York City,
will last from Monday, August 30 until Thursday, September 2. A total
of 400 delegates have been selected from across the country, with 69 of
those being Republican party and community leaders from Georgia.
“I am proud to help lead a delegation to New York that is composed of
so many of our Party’s leaders, from so many varying backgrounds,” said Alec
Poitevint, chairman of the Georgia Republican Party. “Our Party is growing,
becoming our state’s majority party. This delegation represents the many
coalitions and organizations that make up our Republican family.”
Active in the Republican Party in Georgia for years, Pearson is widely
respected in Republican circles for his active involvement in statewide
grassroots campaign efforts and for supporting Republican elected
officials. He has served for three years on the State Executive Committee
of the Georgia Republican Party. He served for four years as Chairman of
the Dawson County Republican Party, and is a graduate of the Coverdell
Leadership Institute. He currently serves as the Bush/Cheney ’04 Chairman
for Dawson County, and is the Republican Candidate for State Senate,
District 51.

Chip and his wife Jill are the proud parents of Madeleine, Mary Anna, and
Edward. Residents of Dawson County for 16 years, the Pearsons worship
at Amicalola Baptist Church, where Chip teaches Sunday school.
